You Only Have 1 Thyroid

Jan 2021 | Autoimmune Disorders, Health and Wellness

This year take time to listen to your body. You may be ignoring the common signs that indicate thyroid dysfunction. When thyroid hormone production decreases, the body begins to slow down. This is called hypothyroidism. The thyroid is a small butterfly shaped organ located in the neck. Don’t let its size fool you. It plays a significant role in body function. When the thyroid is not working properly, the symptoms can be varied. These include dry skin, elevated cholesterol, gallstones, constipation, hair loss, weight gain and more. Do these symptoms sound familiar? You’re probably thinking this can’t be you because you’ve been told your thyroid numbers are normal. Think again. Many people have undetected thyroid dysfunction. It is often ignored because it may be a complicated web of issues. You need someone to help you find the root cause/s. Talk to your medical professional and ask about gut infections, nutrient deficiencies or imbalances, detoxification issues, and environmental triggers. These are just a few potential risk factors for thyroid dysfunction. Your treatment may be as simple as changing your diet. But first, you need to get to the cause before you find the best solution. Be persistent. You are your best health advocate.
