1. Continue to eat gluten. I know this may seem counterintuitive, but consumption of gluten is necessary for proper testing.
2. Be prepared for your doctor’s visit. Complete the symptom assessment tool on www.celiac.org to evaluate whether you’re at risk of having celiac disease. Print the results and share them with your provider.
3. Request the following tests from your doctor or celiac disease dietitian specialist: IgA, IgG, TTG. These three tests are the first step to diagnosing celiac disease. Additional tests and/or procedures may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
